Our little guy is doing good.
Really good.
My heart is full of love for him.
While I know that sounds syruppy and sappy,
it's so very true!!
It's becoming more and more real
that we are likely going to be his forever family.
On my to-do list is to choose an adoption attorney.
Adoption officially likely won't happen until the spring,
but we are still praying for a faster process.
A faster process would be so wonderful for him and for us.
Fostering is every bit the headache that I imagined in many ways
and isn't as big of a headache as I imagined in other ways;
however, it is SO WORTH IT!!!
Let me rephrase that - HE IS SO WORTH IT!!!
Isn't our little guy worth monthly interruptions from case workers?
Isn't our little guy worth a ridiculous amount of paperwork?
Isn't our little guy worth the pain of locking up our medications
and household cleaners?
Isn't our little guy worth a limited babysitter list?
{Shameless plug here for foster families...if you want
to support them in an amazing way, ask what you can do
to become an approved sitter for them and then
send them on a datenight!!}
So, yes, our little guy is worth all of the red tape
and there are so many waiting children who are also
worth someone going through the headache of fostering
or fostering-to-adopt them.
It's worth it, folks.
THESE INNOCENT CHILDREN ARE WORTH IT!!
We have talked about adoption here and there with him.
I don't want it to be a surprise to him,
yet, I don't want to over-commit something to him
that is not officially official at this point.
Where's my textbook on this stuff?
Isaiah 1:17 is one of my favorite verses when I think about M.:
"Learn to do good! Seek justice, correct oppression.
Bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause."
You're so awesome beyond words! With what you've gone through, some people would just call it quits, but you've gotten stronger as a person and in faith. As a mother of two adopted boys from fostercare I can truly say it was worth the 2 year journey and heartache of the "system" to finally offer our boys a forever home. I wish we had room and income to adopt more, but I have hopes that in the near future we will be able to do it again.
